Boiler House Replacement
Replacement of main boiler plant and sections of district heating main would appear a relatively straight forward operation; when the 250 occupants of the five blocks of flats are added to the equation, the operation becomes considerably more complicated. It was imperative that heating and hot water services were maintained to all flats throughout the works.
Gowing & Hunt Limited assumed the role of main contractor in the execution of this contract for Northampton Borough Council. Designed by Building Services Design, the project involved the complete replacement of boilers, pumps, pressurisation unit, controls and ancillary fittings and pipework within the central boilerhouse.
The new boiler installation was carried out whilst the existing boiler plant was kept in full operation for the duration of the works.
